Ever since my dad allowed me to use his Cannon Rebel 35mm at a family reunion at the ripe ole age of twelve, I was hooked. Taking pictures brought all of my passions together... God, children, art. I could use this simple tool to capture God's beautiful creation, precious moments in people's lives, and bring them together in a beautifully artistic way.

When our first child was born, we soon learned that a digital camera is a MUST if you want to capture every single expression of your newborn child. However, my ability to take portraits was novice. Thank the Lord we were blessed to have a wonderful neighbor who was gracious enough to photograph our Riley often, as he was just starting his photography business. After making the choise to pause my teaching career to pursue being a full time mother, I soon realized that we could not afford those pricey photo shoots.

When baby number two came along, I decided if we were going to have beautiful photos of our adorable Reese, I was going to have to learn how to do it myself. Like most things in my life, I was determined to learn everything I could about digital photography. Literally thousands of photos later (I just can't seem to stop taking pictures of my beautiful kids! lol), my artform has taken on its own personality and I have found others wanting pictures of their own. What a blessing it is turning my passion into my part-time business!

Someone recently asked me, "What is the one thing you would do even if you never got paid?" Although several things come to mind (serving God and serving my family, both of which I don't get paid to do!), that one thing, for me, is taking pictures. I love turning a simple photo into a work of art that can be displayed and cherished. As I start on my journey of taking others' photos, I am excited and humbled that you will allow me to be a small part of making memories with your family.

How long will a photo session last?

Photo sessions will last up to one hour.

Where will my photo session take place?

Depending on your preference, we can do indoor or outdoor, your place or mine. :)

What do I/we wear?

Dress to match your couch! Literally, think about where you want your photo(s) displayed and dress to coordinate. If your photo will be above your mantle, dress in tones that suit your living room. Solids tend to work best in showing off your best features... your face! Get creative with textures and props. If you want a truly unique photo, think about what makes you (or your child) you. Bring a colorful scarf, your child's favorite toy, a cherished blanket for your baby, a fun hat, a colorful flower. Get creative and you will play a large role in making your photos special.

Can I print my photos myself?

If you choose to purchase the non-prints package (includes sitting fee and photo CD) you can print your pictures where ever you choose. However, if you choose a prints package, I will have your photos printed in professional photo lab that uses only professional Kodak Endura papers and Kodak ink. I will guarantee satisfaction on any print order that is purchased through me.

What is the turnaround time on my pictures?

We will schedule a viewing in 2-3 weeks from the time of your photo session. At that time, you can pick your photo package and place your order. Once your order is placed, allow 2-4 weeks for delivery of your photos from the photo lab.

What if my child is not in a good mood at the photo session?

Schedule your appointment around what time is best for your child. Make sure he/she has been fed and napped before coming. If you relax, your child will relax, so plan to make goofy faces behind the camera. You know what makes your child tick, so thinking ahead of time of what to say/do to get those precious expressions will be well worth the time.
